Fall has officially arrived, bringing with it crisp air, beautiful leaves, scarves and sweaters, and a few craft IPAs. Is there a better season?! (Not counting ski season, that is.)

Our Party in the Park on September 17th was the ideal way to celebrate this time of change and to participate in the City’s Community League Day. Thank you to all our Lansdowne neighbours for the amazing turnout and for renewing your Community League memberships. If you weren’t able to join in the fun, I highly recommend putting our next event, Halloween at the Hall, on your calendars for October 30th. Your Board’s event planners are outdoing themselves these days!

I look forward to seeing our community out and about this month in all your pumpkin-spice glory – and hopefully dressed in your fresh Lansdowne gear too*.

It feels like only yesterday that my wife Sarah and I moved to Lansdowne back in 2013. We were struck immediately by the community feel of Lansdowne and this has only strengthened through the years. We are fortunate to take advantage of all that makes Lansdowne a vibrant and wonderful community  - the friendly Child Care Centre, our amazing Elementary School, the beautiful ravine, and easy access to a summertime slushy. We love the fact that we, along with our kids Maggie (8) and John (6), cannot go for a walk around our community without running into people to chat with around every corner!

 I am excited to be part of the Lansdowne Community League this year in my role as Civics Coordinator and continue the great work of past Community League volunteers and all of Lansdowne’s residents.

Building Bridges Between Generations
Canada HomeShare™ is an intergenerational housing solution. We work to match older adult home providers with students to create mutually beneficial living solutions. Our work aims to support aging in place for older adults while providing safe and affordable housing solutions for post-secondary students.

Affordable Housing & Help At Home
In exchange for reduced rent of $400-$600 per month, the student provides up to seven hours of companionship and/or assistance with completing light household tasks, such as preparing and sharing meals, tidying up, carrying groceries, or walking a pet.
