Shannon Foster - Secretary

Hello Neighbours,

I am Shannon Foster the secretary for the community league. In 2009 I purchased my first-ever home in Lansdowne. Originally from Toronto, I had only been in Edmonton a few years and was very fortunate to come across such a wonderful neighbourhood. My husband James joined me in 2011 and then our two children Liza (9) and Laird (7). Both of our children attend Lendrum Elementary in the French immersion program. Like many families, we knew our beloved bungalow would not be our forever home, so in 2019 we moved, but only 2 ½ blocks. We cannot imagine living anywhere else. 

I have been volunteering with the community league for 8 years now with a brief hiatus while I sat on various preschool boards and acted as vice-chair for the playground redevelopment committee. When I first joined the board in 2013, I really had not met many people in the neighbourhood. This rapidly changed after joining the board and I have since met many wonderful people and made many lasting friendships. It really is a privilege to go for a walk, whether through the farm, ravine or neighbourhood and always meet friendly faces. 

The Community League has seen Lansdowne through many changes over the years and we are lucky to have such dedicated volunteers, past, present and future. Thank you everyone for making Lansdowne such a wonderful place to live.
