Colleen Sayer’s Painted Rocks

Colleen’s painted rocks have brought the residents of Lansdowne so much joy. It’s like a treasure hunt when we’re out on our walks. Thank you for delighting us with your talent Colleen!

“During COVID, I noticed that there were a lot more people walking in the neighbourhood and I thought “What would make those walks more interesting?”

I decided to paint little rocks and leave them anonymously for people to find. I blew my cover one Saturday when I decided to have a little “rock sale” on my driveway, but also heard how much people appreciated this gesture.

Since then, I have been selling my painted rocks to raise money for a women’s organization (P.E.O.) that provides financial support to women seeking to further their education. I have placed over 150 rocks in the neighbourhood, but most seem to have “grown legs”.

I also do custom rocks as you can see if you check out my website: colleencaughtit.com/painted-rocks

I will also be at the Royal Gardens Makers Market on November 25 & 26 if you want to check them out. I still do leave rocks in the neighbourhood, so keep your eyes peeled!”
